Hi Amy... We at Quartus are very sorry to hear about your son. I cant imagine what you are going through, but are absolutely touched that you chose one of the songs Bobby wrote to share in your sad time. We also are happy to be a blessing to anybody that we can encourage during the tough times in life...the story behind the song is that a very very close personal friends of all of ours, lost a baby through miscarriage. Bobby with his great heart wanted to write a song that would hit home...and thats what God brought to his heart...again, very sorry to hear about your loss all of us at Quartus

Hey Amy, so glad you found comfort in "Watch over my Baby." This song is just another great example of how Bob writes song about true life events that have effected either himself or his friends. He surprised my wife and I with this song that he wrote for us. We couldn't have asked for anything more as this song truely brought calmness and comfort to us. I don't believe we ever played this song live at our Quartus shows as it has always been looked at as a personal song. As I've just recently retired from Quartus, I'd like to take this chance to once again thank Bob for the perfect gift of this song! Amy, I'm glad you could find peace through the spirit of music.

Thank you! My son died from Tay-Sachs disease on July 19th 2008. I had done some reseach on songs that I wanted played at the funeral and came across Watch Over My Baby. It was perfect. I still listen to it every day. It gives me great comfort. I was just wondering if there was a story behind it? I live in Northcentral Missouri and didn't realize until today that I could have seen you play in Omaha. When will you be playing live again? Thanks again for the comfort you give me everyday!

Thanks for the question about Joel, he decided to break from the band a few months ago after getting married, graduating college and taking the a head highschool band director position close to Sioux Falls. We miss him dearly, and hope the very best for him and his new family and career! Thanks Joel!

hey just wanted to tell you that you new CD rocks. My daughter passed away on the 28th of January, she was only 9 days old. At her funneral we played "Watch over my Baby" off your album "So Fine" it was wonderful to have that song availible just to listen to. really digging your sound, hearing a lot of OAR in there which is obvious based on the picture of you guys together. anyway, just wanted to bring to your attention the jam in your song "This Crazy Life" and its similarity to DMB's Louisiana Bayou... check out the released version of DMB + Robert Randolph live at Red Rocks and you'll catch my drift. Great show last night guys! We had heard so much about the band, but had never actually seen you until last night...and we were amazed. Much more talent that your average local cover band! We all loved your originals and could easily hear them on top radio anywhere! Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately we are not going to play the Boys Club Benefit show anymore. They had an error that booked two bands for that night, and since Joel is going to be out of town that weekend, we folded. We appoligize that we haven't been as active locally as we are typically, it's just been a very busy (personally) summer for us.
